1983 Suzuki Tempter made into a Softail Chopper

Here is how it looked at first.

I thought a custom paint job would make me happy with it, but it didn't work. The bike needed to be customized....
Plan "B" was adding a Dyna tank and a bobbed rear fender. That really didn't go well either....

It looked OK, but it just wasn't right.
Plan "C" was grafting the rear half of an Early Softail to the front of the Tempter frame.

Here are a few pictures of the "during" stage of the frame graft. The front of the Tempter frame was very weak. Heavy frame tubing was added around the neck area which was tied in to the rear half of the Softail frame. Harley neck cups were also made to fit the Suzuki neck. The 10" high T-Bars just seem to work on this. The 10" over front end was shortened a bit after these pictures were taken to make maneuvering more manageable.
