1984 CaddySuicide Doors:This entire job was done in the street (I don't usually do things like that, but the owner got caught up in my ex-partner's abandonment of the shop while I was home recovering from an illness, so I made the exception this time). I now work alone as I can trust no one else for any reason. This car is the only exception, as the car owner is intricately involved in the process.
The door jambs required quite a bit of filling. Each hole was welded shut (using a flux core welder, by the way, which worked fairly well. I was surprised).
The rear section was replaced with a piece of 16 gauge sheet metal:
We added a hinged flap to the inner wheel well/fender support for access to the in-fender TVs. Yes, this car will have TVs in the fenders and the quarters, as well as the dashboard and inner door panels, headrests and a few other places I probably forgot about.
